Just remember if the CEO thinks that you're just the right person to run this years bigger-than-ever April Fools hoax, you'll also be first out the door when the downturn comes.
The CEO knows who is doing real work.
I said, umm I think that was an april fools article. He was like really? I said, I thought the part about giving funding on a first come first served basis may have been a good tip off. He was like, please dont tell anyone I said this. I laughed and said I couldnt commit to that, but I wouldnt use his name. :)
I let him off the hook a little by saying I generally try not to read news on April 1 because it is a hassle having to sift through fake articles.

In the midst of these times especially. Pandemic, violence, election theatrics, racism abound, racial terrorism rising, inequality concerns rising, global economic instability rising, et al. There's a million worries on everybody's radar, and I think it's completely tone-deaf to be worrying about jokes right now. We all need a happy moment now and then, but the news cycle should be informative and tame, I think, for the greater good.
Anyhow, it's been nice reading HN for a change, today. Thank you all.

Also, some bugs were ironed out, and I made some tweaks to the code to include even more crazier headlines.
Enjoy.

I genuinely wanted to buy their t-shirt and I filled out the form just to see what happened and thought no more of it until I got this today:

£6 to ship to the UK. Worth every penny!
Posting multiple copies of April Fools jokes just seems pointless.
Apparently YouTube is shutting down.
Google has invented some new outlandish invention.
Ugh. What a waste of time.
In a nutshell, it's Google Maps + Pokemon + tamagotchis
It's a real-life creature hunting. Once caught, you'll need to take care of your creatures (like Tamagotchis), you can then trade/fight them with your friends!
Some creatures are only catchable in Asia.
Some creatures are only catchable in France.
Some creatures are only catchable during full moon nights.
Some creature are only catchable early in the morning.
etc.
We've had some users tell us they go out at night and hunt! Or users actually putting their alarm clock early to catch this one Mobble! Some feedbacks are quite unbelievable sometimes, like someone crossing the whole city of LA to catch an exclusive Mobble we put around the convention center during E3.
HN is actually responsible for this game since we applied through our incubator (I/O venture) after sseing a link here.
Anyway, for those who are frustrated by Google's april fool, you should give Mobbles a try! Looking forward to your feedback!
"Starting April 21, unless your business’s @account is either subscribed to Twitter Blue or Verified Organizations, or has received a gold checkmark, you will not be able to run ads on Twitter. Subscription accounts benefit from a superior Twitter experience, including a more visible organic presence and a broader range of creation tools. Note: If you have already booked a future campaign in excess of $1,000 or book one today, your @account is automatically eligible for a complimentary gold checkmark."
Hi there,
Mailgun is adjusting our plans and pricing to more accurately reflect the value users get from the service and to make room for some great new deliverability features we just released.
Throughout 2019, we were hard at work adding and improving our email capabilities and optimizing our support to help your business grow. While many of these updates were made behind the scenes, the truth is that Mailgun can do a lot more than it could two years ago when we last updated our plans.
What does this mean for you?
On March 1, 2020, we will automatically transition your account to the new Flex plan, a pay-as-you-go plan comparable to the Concept plan you’re currently on. You’ll receive your first invoice under the new plan on April 1 if your amount due is greater than $0.50. According to your usage last month, your invoice under the new price per message of $0.0008 would have been $0 for December. It’s a modest change, but we wanted to be transparent about it.
What’s changing with the Flex plan?
Flex offers you the same pay-per-use model you were used to on the Concept plan. The main differences are that we are no longer offering 10,000 free emails or 100 free validations per month, and our support options now include limited ticket support as well as enhanced self-service Q&As so you can find answers faster. Additionally, while your existing routes will still be functional, new routes will not be supported on this plan.
What other options do I have?
We have several other plans available with additional features and service levels, including a new subscription plan called Foundation that starts at $35 per month. This plan provides access to new deliverability tools like Inbox Placement so you can effortlessly increase your deliverability and email ROI.
Looking for validations, inbound routing, or more support? Foundation is a great starter plan. If this is something you’re interested in, check out your plan options.
Basically eBay in general is making a big push toward attracting new and infrequent users to the site.[1] EPN is changing their incentive structure to match that, increasing revenue share for traffic from new/infrequent eBay users, and decreasing it for other traffic. Assuming traffic sent from publishers remains unchanged, this will result in a significant overall reduction in the amount being paid out. (For us it's 40%; I expect that's on the high end of the range since most of your users already have eBay accounts, but it gives you a ballpark.) They optimistically state that if publishers manage to drive an increased number of new and infrequent users, overall payments may instead increase, but that remains to be seen.
As mentioned, this will apparently be up on the EPN blog on Friday, and the changes will take effect April 15. So if there's some way you can make your EPN displays more appealing to new or infrequent eBay users, you may want to give it a try.
On the plus side, they are also apparently planning to significantly improve the reporting tools, adding more details on what goes into the Quality Click Pricing calculation, as well as more granularity on the type of users being sent for each campaign, which will hopefully help publishers optimize for this new pricing scheme.
Again, I have no affiliation with eBay aside from being a member of the eBay Partner Network (their affiliate program).

We’re incredibly grateful for the feedback we received when we first launched GPT-4 answers back in April (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35543668). As Phind has gotten better at complex programming tasks, the questions it gets asked have gotten more complex as well. In the past, we would always perform a web search for every input. This limitation constrained Phind’s answers to what was present in the search results, preventing us from making Phind a more powerful debugger and making it challenging to integrate Phind with your codebase.
We’ve addressed all these shortcomings in Phind V2. This release has three major updates: (1) Phind is now a pair programming agent that knows when to browse the web, ask clarifying questions, and call itself recursively; (2) the answering engine defaults to GPT-4, and you can use it without a login; (3) we integrate with your codebase via our new VS Code extension.
We realized that search is only one of many tools that Phind should be able to use. As such, Phind has been re-engineered to be an agent that can dynamically choose whatever tool best helps the user – it’s now smart enough to decide when to search and when to enter a specialized debug mode. Instead of making assumptions about your code and proceeding blindly, Phind can ask you questions and clarify its assumptions. When a problem requires multiple searches or logical steps to solve, Phind can call itself recursively and perform multi-step reasoning without user input.
We’ve heard from you that switching between your IDE and Phind in the browser has been a major pain point. No longer – we’re launching a VS Code extension that brings Phind into the IDE and finally connects Phind with the context of your codebase. Phind in VS Code automatically determines which parts of your code are relevant to your search and can help you squash bugs in a single click.
To maximize Phind’s alignment with your preferred answer style, we’ve also added a feature called Answer Profile where you can tell the AI about yourself. Phind will apply this answering style across the board, automatically.
Here are some examples of the new Phind answering questions it could not before:

I would like to appeal that you flag all uninspired april fools pranks until april second.
The truth of the matter is that april fools (Which I think some have called the "hackers holiday") has been ruined by oversaturation
and PR departments. Instead of being a funny unexpected string of pranks and absurdism, the experience has become a droning hum
of buzzing marketers and disrupted services.
By keeping the front page pure, it may be possible for a few good pranks to actually surprise and entertain.
Thank you.
