Fortunately, so many users found the product helpful. So, I started getting tons of feedback. I took calls with some of them, and some sent me feedback through emails and DMs.
I am so grateful to everyone who took the time to try the product and give feedback and suggestions.
So I quickly aggregated the feedback in one place and rolled out the most requested features one by one. I shared product updates through email every week with the users.
The users who saw me implementing their feedback trusted me and became my first paid customers.
Lesson learned:\nAs Indiehackers, we know how precious is our time and resources. So when you are starting, instead of finding ways to get more users, find the right ones, listen to them, and optimize the product accordingly.
I know this is just the start, but I am excited about the upcoming journey. Much more things to learn!

I started an api service back in 2010/2011. I was working on something and needed to get a website visitor's IP address in the web app. But because javascript in the browser is sandboxed (i.e. no IP for you), I ran into a problem I needed a solution for.
This led me over that weekend to build https://jsonip.com. It lets you fire off a CORS or use JSONP to get the results of the api call and use IP address in your app. It might not have been the first, but it was definitely one of the earlier similar services that are around these days.
Fast forward a little over 12 years or so and the api is still going strong. The service has been free the whole time and without any limits on the number of requests you can make. I'm supporting 60-70 million requests a day. In the last 30 days, its almost up to 1.4 billion requests. Really crazy to see that.
Another related feature I've looked at is geolocation. That's where you can take an IP address and get geographical info about it. They aren't super accurate at the most specific level (you aren't going to get a street address for an IP), but they do a great job showing approximately where an IP is down to the city level and sometimes even zip code. Its really useful in a lot of cases.
But one thing has bothered me about this. There's at least a handful of companies already operating in this space. Go google "ip geolocation api". Take a look through them and you'll see a common pattern.
* They're bloody expensive.\n* They invoke artificially low limits on the number of requests you can make per month.
It doesn't make any damn sense.
I've been thinking about trying to tackle this problem for a couple years and I'm finally launching a service that I hope can attack the problem.
(Here comes the uncomfortable linking to things. Groan...)
Ok so here it is. https://getjsonip.com/#plus. Its a subscription service (big shock, right?) that lets you do as many geoip lookups as you want.
I hope this can be helpful to at least some small number of people. At a minimum, at least a few subscribers would help offset the cost of running jsonip.com for all these years.

It was best received on HN with 203 points, it made it in the top 10, and it stayed on the front page for a good while. Reddit also surprised me, I posted in r/SideProject and got 26 upvotes and only positive comments.. ? That is so not what I expected from reddit... Was very pleasantly surprised to say the least.

So I hacked together a tool that turns quick voice notes into organised tasks and tags. It started as a personal sanity-saver, but my friends and family jumped in too and said it was worth paying for.
I call it mmbl\u2014basically, it transcribes your ramblings, auto-detects tasks, adds tags, and syncs them to your calendar.
My brother uses it to rattle off his daily to-dos while making coffee, and by the time he\u2019s done, his day is fully mapped out. Another friend uses it to generate tweets from their ramblings. It\u2019s like dumping your brain out without the guilt of cluttered notes and being able to ask about it later.
I also started using it to whip up content like tweets and blog posts by using it to draft something based on my notes\u2014it\u2019s surprisingly good at saving me from blank-page syndrome. And if I need to find that random idea from last month, I can just search in natural language instead of scrolling through endless lists.

A couple of weeks back I posted Matchbox Video (https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/g8dqre/matchbox_video_the_easiest_way_to_convert_a/) which lets you convert a Google Slides presentation into a video with text to speech speaker notes. It works pretty well: you can see the sample video describing Matchbox Video built with Matchbox Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhFtECRqbS4.
Once we built it, though, we realized that the presentation creation workflow for screenshots was incredibly repetitive. We'd walk through an app or website, take a series of screenshots, and then start creating the slides. In Google Slides, this involves:
- Creating each slide
- Opening the upload dialog
- Uploading the specific file (ordered by date or file name)
- Positioning it on the page
All of which is incredibly tedious for large sequences, particularly for such a basic precursor step to actually creating a useful, informative presentation (we would still need to add text to each slide, highlight parts of the image, etc).
We built Screenshots as a simple tool to make the first step easy: you pick your images as a single step, we automatically sort them based on the name (you can adjust the sort manually if you'd like), pick a couple of simple options, and then either add them to an existing presentation or create a new one, and a couple of minutes later you have your presentation ready to go.

The second is /r/lookatmyprogram although that sub seems to be dead.
